Channels Analysis

The insights you capture in each Lumiere channel

Updated over 2 months ago

Overview

Each Lumiere Channel features its own Insights Dashboard. Each dashboard gives you a powerful, centralized way to evaluate the performance of every video in your channel, both individually and as part of the overall viewer experience. This dashboard helps you identify top-performing content, uncover engagement trends, and understand how viewers interact with each of your videos.

Channel Insights Dashboard

The Channel Insights Dashboard displays a comprehensive table comparing each video’s performance across the following key metrics:

  • Views – The total number of times a video has been watched.

  • Total Watch Time – The cumulative viewing time a video has received.

  • Share of Channel Watch Time – The percentage of total watch time the video accounts for within the channel.

  • Total Comments (if applicable) – The number of comments left by viewers.

  • Average Rating (if applicable) – The average score viewers assigned to the video.

  • Total Emoji Submissions (if applicable)– The number of emoji-based reactions submitted.

  • Viewer Retention – The percentage of the video watched on average.

This at-a-glance table allows you to quickly identify videos that stand out—whether they’re driving exceptional engagement or in need of improvement.

Overall Channel Figures

Beyond individual video stats, Lumiere also captures overall channel performance to help you measure your broader content impact:

  • Total Views across all videos.

  • Total Watch Time across the entire channel.

  • Total Comments left across all videos.

These aggregated figures are invaluable for measuring the reach and engagement of your channel as a whole.

Drilling Down into Individual Video Performance

From the Channel Insights Dashboard, you can select any video to view its individual performance. Within each video's insights dashboard, you get access to all of the analysis cards, heat maps, and question insights (if questions were added to your video).

Filtering Your Channel Data

Just like individual video dashboards, channel-level data can be filtered to zero in on specific viewer segments or behavioral patterns. Filters might include audience demographics, viewing devices, geographic location, or any other custom variables you’ve included in your study setup.

To see how you can add custom variables to your video or channel URL, see our article here.

This flexibility makes it easy to compare how different audience groups interact with your videos and to spot trends that might not be visible in aggregate data.
