Insights Dashboard

Everything you need to know about your video's Insights Dashboard and how Lumiere makes data analysis easy.

The Insights Dashboard is where Lumiere helps you make sense of how your audience is connecting with your content. Every metric and analysis method on the dashboard has been curated by our Data Analysts and AI Professionals to make analysis powerful, insightful, and (we'd argue) actually fun.

On your dashboard, you'll be able to:

  • Measure engagement

  • Understand viewer sentiment and opinions

  • Make data-driven decisions

When you open a video from your team's main workspace, you'll land right on its Insights Dashboard.

Question Insights

If your video included Prompted Questions, this is where you'll see how viewers responded.

To view question responses:

  1. Open the Questions tab in the left-side panel of the Insights Dashboard.

  2. Use the navigation arrows < > to move between questions and question groups.

Each question type displays results a little differently. You can:

  • View breakdowns using the analysis cards in the left-side panel and the question feature on the video player

  • Filter your dashboard to see responses by a specific data cut

Prompted Questions with Conversations

If the question you're looking at has Conversations enabled, you'll see two tabs in the left-side panel:

  • Summary: Analysis Cards that summarize viewer feedback

  • Responses: Each Conversation from that question — click an individual conversation summary or original comment to view the full Conversation

Viewer Reaction Insights

The Insights Dashboard also gives you a full picture of how viewers reacted to specific moments in your video, helping you understand sentiment, preferences, and emotional response.

To view persistent reaction data:

  1. Open the Reactions tab in the left-side panel.

  2. Review the Key Metrics on the video player.

  3. Check out the Analysis Cards under the Summary section.

  4. View individual comments, reactions, and conversations under the Responses section.

Key Metrics

Located on the video player will be a collection of performance metrics pertinent to your video’s Persistent Reaction type.

Clicking one of these metrics will update three things:

  • Trend Lines below the video player

  • Heat Map (for Comments and One Touch only)

  • Scene cards below the video player

Trend Lines highlight peaks and valleys in your video — where content was more or less thought-provoking, engaging, or attention-grabbing. To toggle them on, click the X-axis icon in the bottom-right corner of the video player.

Heat Map shows where on the screen viewers clicked to leave Persistent Comments or One Touch reactions. To toggle it on, click the 🌡️ Thermometer icon in the bottom-right corner of the video player.

Scenes

Below the video player, you'll see the scenes you created during setup. Each scene displays the metric you've selected on the video player (Total Comments, Sentiment, Average Rating, Retention, etc.).

Using scenes as filters lets you zero in on the performance of individual sections of your video — a granular view of how viewers engaged with specific moments.

To use scenes as filters:

  1. Click a scene below the video player to view that scene's performance.

  2. Select a different Key Metric from the video player to update all scene cards.

  3. To return to results for the whole video, deselect the scene you're currently viewing.

Analysis Cards

Analysis Cards live under the Reactions tab. They break down your video's data so you can spot trends, understand reactions, and make decisions quickly. The cards you see will depend on the Persistent Reaction type you used.

Analysis Cards for Persistent Comments

Summary Card - This AI-generated summary of the comments left on your video gives you a high-level overview of what your audience is saying about your content.

Ask Lumiere - this feature, located on the comment summary analysis card, allows you to directly ask Lumiere about the insights you've collected on your video.

Sentiment Card Comments left by users are given a sentiment score of Positive, Negative, or Neutral based on our advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) model. Positive leaning sentiment indicates a well-liked video.

Keywords Card The most used words in your viewers’ comments and the sentiment they were associated with. Selecting a keyword will apply a comment filter to show you all the comments that use that keyword. This card can toggle between ‘Library’ and ‘Word cloud’ views.

Themes Card - Lumiere's advanced algorithm groups user comments into categories based on their similarity. Now you can easily see the different aspects of your video that viewers are commenting on without sifting through hundreds of open ends on your own. Select a theme from the Theme Card to apply a filter to view all the comments that fit that topic.

Emotions Card - This card uses AI to analyze open-ended viewer responses and identifies the top emotions expressed, such as excitement, confusion, or joy. Each emotion is paired with a percentage representing how often it appeared across responses. Comments can be tagged with multiple emotions, offering a nuanced emotional breakdown of audience sentiment.

Additional Feedback – An Analysis Card for the additional feedback you may have added to Persistent Comments (Stars, Slider Rating, or Emojis) will show you the exact breakdown of ratings left by viewers.

Analysis Cards for Persistent Emojis

Emojis Card - This card will show you how much each Emoji was submitted by both a percentage of share and total count

Key Moments Card - Lumiere will analyze moments within your content where a large number of emojis were submitted in a short time. Key Moments are moments where engagement is high.

Analysis Cards for Persistent One Touch

Key Moments Card - Lumiere will analyze moments within your content where a large number of emojis were submitted in a short time. Key Moments are moments where engagement is high.

Comments and Conversations

If your video used Persistent Comments, you'll see two tabs in the left-side panel:

  • Summary: Analysis Cards summarizing viewer feedback

  • Responses: A chronological list of every comment submitted

If Conversations were turned on, the Responses tab also lets you toggle between the viewer's original comment and a summary of their full conversation with Lumiere's AI.
