Prompted Questions

Prompted Questions are placed at specific moments within the video, pausing the content for your audience to respond. There are 7 types of Prompted Questions: Instructions, Multiple Choice, Text, Emoji, Hotspot, Slider, and Stars. Get a closer look at each question type below.

Instructions

The Instructions question type enables you to provide viewers with prompts, information, guidance, or any other type of textual content during their viewing experience. By providing additional context and guidance, you can ensure that viewers fully understand the content they are watching and can provide more meaningful feedback in subsequent questions.

Multiple Choice

Multiple-choice questions can have up to 7 responses for viewers to choose from. You have customization options such as randomizing rows, adding an “other” option for viewers, and more.

Slider Rating

In this question type, viewers are presented with a prompt and a sliding scale that ranges from a minimum value to a maximum value. The viewer can then slide a marker along the scale to indicate their rating of the moment.

Pro Tip: Sliders are great for more than just rating a moment. Questions like “How likely are you to seek out more content like this?” or “How does this content affect your interest in this brand” are perfect use cases for this question type.

Stars

In this question type, viewers are presented with a prompt and a rating scale consisting of as few as 3 and up to 10 stars. They can then select the number of stars that best reflects their opinion of the moment in question.

Hotspot

Hotspot Questions is a selection question that enables you to superimpose circular windows on top of your content, called ‘Hotspots’, which highlight specific elements within the video frame. Viewers then select one of the ‘Hotspots’. This question type is useful for questions where the visual aid is essential to understanding the inquiry, provides an extra level of information that can only be conveyed via visual stimuli, or makes the viewer's experience more enjoyable.

An example of a good Hotspot question would be “Which of these characters do you like best?” (see below).

Emoji

Emoji Reaction questions can be useful for gathering quick, qualitative data on viewers' emotional responses to specific moments in the video. By using emojis, survey creators can capture a wide range of emotions and sentiments, and potentially gather more nuanced feedback from viewers. This can help to identify areas of strength or weakness in the content, as well as highlight specific moments that elicited strong emotional responses.

Text

A flexible question type where viewers provide open-ended answers in their own words. Best used when you want your viewers to give their unfiltered feedback.
