Introduction
Custom Fields lets your team add flexible, visual metadata to videos and channels — beyond folders.
Managed by team admins, fields can be further customized with icons and colors, and surface the most important metadata as tags on your workspace tiles. Custom Fields make it easy to organize by project, client, campaign, department, language, and more — so your library is searchable, scannable, and aligned with how your team actually works.
Field Types and Customization
Field Types
Your team can tag videos and channels with as many custom fields as it needs, utilizing the three different types of fields:
Free Text
Single Select
Multiple Select
Free Text
Up to 700 characters. Best for unique IDs, notes, or long descriptors.
Single Select
Choose exactly one option from a predefined list (good for Status, Region, Priority).
Multiple Select
Pick multiple options (useful for tags like “Tutorial”, “Internal”, “Advanced”).
Visual customization
Your team can further customize fields by selecting an associated icon and color for each field to make them more identifiable.
Icon: choose from 99+ icons to represent the field.
Color: choose from 9 colors to visually group fields.
Name: descriptive label for clarity.

Best practices & suggested starter fields
Get started (recommended)
Start with 3–5 essential fields (e.g.,
Client,Project,Status,Region,Content Type).Use descriptive names: prefer “Project ID” over “ID”, “Client Name” over “Client”.
Use Single Select for controlled values (Status), Multiple Select for tags (audiences), and Free Text for unique descriptors.
Managing lists & options
Keep select lists manageable. If you have 50+ possibilities, consider using Free Text or regrouping values.
Enable user-added options only where flexibility outweighs consistency (e.g., Project Name).
Review and clean options periodically: archive unused values, merge duplicates.
Tagging workflow
Tag content when first uploaded or during setup.
Use batch tagging conventions as your team scales (note: bulk tagging is a planned enhancement).
Document conventions (who tags what, when) and audit tags quarterly.
